Events

Every so often the realm throws up a world event at a single place — an Invasion ("a drove of boars is overrunning Copperfell") or a Surge ("a storm felled the trees — clear them before they rot"). It's announced in World chat; travel there to take part. Events are rare and often called by the wardens for a special occasion, so it's worth answering the horn when one sounds.

Joining in

At the event's location a gold-tinted card marked Event appears in the list of things to do — you can't miss it. Open it and fight (an invasion) or gather (a surge) exactly as you would anything else. Everyone present chips away at one shared pool — the card shows how much is left. The event ends when the pool is cleared or its timer runs out.

Your kills and gathers pay their normal XP and loot the whole time — joining an event is never worse than doing the same thing elsewhere. When the pool passes the 50% mark the wardens call out how close the realm is.

Clearing the pool

If everyone together clears the pool before time runs out, a completion bonus in gold is split among the participants by contribution share — the more of the pool you personally cleared, the bigger your cut. That's the rally moment: it pays to pile in. If the timer lapses with the pool unfinished the event simply fizzles — you keep everything you earned along the way, there's just no bonus on top.

Events you might see

The realm draws from a set of events, low-tier ones in the early regions so newcomers can join too. Random events only fire when at least 14 players are online, and the wardens can call any of these by hand:

Good to know

  • An event lives at one location — you must be standing there to take part.
  • The invasion's monster or the surge's resource is available only for the event, even where the place doesn't normally have it — the Atlas lists what each place usually offers.
  • The completion bonus is gold only; there's no way to "lose" an event beyond a fizzle.
