Houses
A House is your personal storage in a town: a weight-based store for items and a bank for gold, reachable only in the town it stands in. Each House town offers every character its own plot — but the House must be built before it stores anything, and each town's House is built, upgraded, and furnished separately. Items in storage weigh nothing on you; they count against the House's capacity instead.
Towns with a House plot: Aldermoor — Wyckmouth, Embervale, Hearthwick; Sundermere — Saltreach, Mistval; Merrowfen — Sedgeholm, Sootmere, Mirefield.
Building a House
Raising the House is a Construction build: it consumes materials from your pack plus gold (destroyed — a build, not a purchase), and grants Construction XP. The classic loop: chop logs, saw them into planks (Construction XP), then build with the planks. A House costs what its region is worth — the further out you settle, the better the wood it takes.
Storage capacity & upgrades
A fresh House holds 1,000 lb of goods. Each upgrade adds 100 lb of capacity, consumes planks from your pack (no gold — building, not buying), and grants 40 Construction XP. Every expansion costs a little more than the last, until the price flattens — from there, expansion stays the same price forever, at 100× Plank in Aldermoor, 134× Ash Plank in Sundermere, 160× Blackthorn Plank in Merrowfen.
Short on the plank your region calls for? An upgrade will take any higher-tier plank in its place — it spends your plainest planks first, so your fancy wood is only touched once the cheap stuff runs out. (Building a House still needs the exact plank its region calls for; only upgrades are flexible.)
| Upgrade | Capacity after | Aldermoor | Sundermere | Merrowfen |

| 1 | 1,100 lb | 20× Plank | 24× Ash Plank | 30× Blackthorn Plank |

Gardens
A built House can add a garden — private plots for Farming's cultivation: sow seeds, let them grow, harvest the crop. The garden expands in tiers; each tier is its own Construction build of stone, planks, and gold (destroyed), for a one-time XP reward.
Furniture
Each built House holds one furniture piece per slot — passive bonuses that stack across every furnished House you own in the region. The full slot-by-slot catalogue lives in the Home Furniture guide.
Housing contracts
Don't fancy hauling planks yourself? Grant another player a housing contract on your House (up to 10 builders per House). A contracted builder can upgrade your capacity, expand your garden, and install furniture using their own materials and gold — the Construction XP is theirs, the improvement lands on your House, and they never see your stored items or banked gold. Contracts are granted and revoked from the House's Contracts tab; it's the realm's builder-for-hire economy.
