Catch of the Day

The Fishmonger's Stall in Wyckmouth sets one fish a day and pays for the finest example you can land. Enroll at the stall, fish the species it names, and every catch carries a small chance of a Trophy Fish. Bring your trophies back to the stall to have them judged for Scales.

The day's catch

Enrolling is free and can be done once per day, at the stall. The fishmonger draws from the 5 finest species you can catch — the better your Fishing, the better the fish asked of you, and never a shrimp for a master angler.

While enrolled, each successful catch of that species has a 1% chance of also landing a Trophy Fish (2% with a Weighted Line from the stall). Trophies are kept in your creel rather than your pack, and they are strictly today's: an unsubmitted trophy is gone when the day turns over, as is the assignment itself.

Having one judged

Submit a trophy at the stall and the fishmonger rates it. The day pays for your best rating, not for each fish — a second trophy is a fresh attempt at a finer judgement, and you're paid the difference when you beat your own mark.

So a day's fishing is worth at most 4 Scales however many trophies you land — the chase is for the rating, not the pile.

The stall's wares

Scales spend only here, at the Fishmonger's Stall in Wyckmouth:

• Fishing Lures — A pouch of three — each adds +10% Fishing success for 30 minutes, and they stack. (2 Scales)
• Fishmonger's Favor — Reroll your assigned fish once per day. (50 Scales)
• Weighted Line — Trophy Fish take the hook half again as often (1.5%, was 1%). (100 Scales)
• Title: Angler — A name earned on the water. (50 Scales)
• Title: Fishmonger — The stall knows a master when it buys from one. (250 Scales)

Good to know

• Every submitted trophy counts toward your Catch of the Day tally on the highscores.
• Fishing Lures stack: drink two and you fish at +20% success until the first runs out. Their bonus applies to Fishing only — as the pack says when you hover one.
• A doubled catch is still one chance at a trophy — the Yield is its own reward.
